Located just north of Seattle on Juniper beach in Camano island. I am very familiar with Camano as I grew up going there every summer to my best friends family beach cabin. As a result I make some of my best work on Camano Island because it comes naturally and very easy to me as I am comfortable and at home on Island.
Upon arrival, Katie and Tyler and friends were out in the water for an afternoon swim. We spent time documenting their details and the property. It was quaint and offered many pockets of wonderful lighting. The cabin was really the main character and helped tell the story of the whole day. Katie wore a simple but beautiful linen dress and jewelry from her grandma. Tyler picked flowers for her while she got dressed before their first look.
Shortly after the first look in their backyard Katie and Tyler + friends took the one block walk to the beach to tie the knot. Everyone headed out past where the houses ended on the beach. This resulted in a truly Intimate Island experience. Katie + Tyler shared the sweetest vows on the end of the cove with each other which resulted in the sweetest video footage from the day. You can see their video here.
Once the wedding concluded we took the beachfront back and Neighbors waved in celebration and cheers the whole way. We ended the night at just before sunset and documented some of my favorite evening portraits to date. Everyone danced, sang + Katie threw on Tyler’s baseball cap to end the night.
This wedding truly was the very start of my love for tiny weddings and smaller intimate weddings. I also deeply fell in love with mixing digital work with analog film (35mm film, polaroids and Super 8) into my work. I absolutely love this wedding I hope you all will too.
