That Don’t Feel Like
Wedding Videos
I shoot weddings on actual Super 8 film.
Not digital made to look vintage. Not an overlay. Not a preset.
Real motion picture film.
It gets loaded into the camera. It gets exposed. It gets developed. It exists physically before it ever becomes a file.
If you’re looking for a traditional wedding video with perfect stabilization and polished edits, this isn’t that.
If you want something that feels lived-in and honest, this is.
It’s imperfect in the best way.
And that’s the point.
Super 8 doesn’t try to impress anyone.
It doesn’t smooth everything out. It doesn’t chase trends. It doesn’t turn your day into a movie trailer.
It records what actually happened.
The in-between. The movement. The slightly imperfect framing. The way light hits at 6:42 pm.
It feels different because it is different.
And years from now, when everything else looks dated, this won’t.
It’ll just look like your life.
Why Super 8 Instead of Traditional Wedding VideoGRAPHY?
Most wedding films try to be cinematic.
I’m not trying to make a movie trailer.
I’m documenting motion the same way I photograph — candid, honest, unfiltered.
Super 8 works beautifully for:
• Intimate weddings
• Courthouse ceremonies
• Backyard celebrations
• Couples who care more about feeling than perfection
It’s quiet. It’s textured. It’s human.
And no, it’s not for everyone.

Super 8 Wedding Film FAQ
-
Yes — selectively.
My primary focus is analog motion picture film: Super 8 and 16mm.
For larger-scale weddings (typically $15k+ film budgets), I offer digital coverage as part of a custom motion package. That allows for extended coverage, clean ceremony audio, and multi-camera edits when needed.
If you're looking for traditional all-digital wedding videography only, I’m probably not the right fit.
If you want film-forward coverage with the option to layer in digital intentionally, we can talk.
-
Yes.
In addition to Super 8, I also shoot 16mm film for couples who want a more elevated, cinematic motion look while still staying fully analog.
Both formats are real motion picture film, just different textures and levels of detail.
-
Super 8 itself is silent motion picture film.
There is no native audio recorded in-camera.
However, I can record separate audio during your ceremony or vows and layer it into your final edit when requested.
Most couples choose Super 8 specifically because it focuses on movement and feeling over traditional wedding video structure.
-
Yes.
Super 8 wedding film can be booked as a standalone service or added to wedding photography coverage.
Some couples hire me exclusively for motion. Others combine digital, 35mm, and Super 8 together.
There’s no required bundle.
-
Highlight films are typically 1–4 minutes.
In addition to the highlight edit, couples can receive longer b-roll reels ranging from 2 to 30 minutes, depending on how many rolls of film were used.
The final length is determined by coverage time and the amount of film shot throughout the day.

I’m a Seattle-based Super 8 wedding videographer filming across:
• Seattle
• The San Juan Islands
• New York City
• Destination weddings worldwideIf your wedding involves a plane ticket, I’m open.
-
A Super 8 wedding videographer films weddings on real analog motion picture film instead of digital video. Super 8 creates a nostalgic, textured look with visible grain and organic motion that cannot be replicated with digital filters.
-
It depends on what you want.
Super 8 is softer, imperfect, and artistic. Digital wedding video is sharper, more polished, and audio-driven.
Couples who choose Super 8 typically care more about mood and movement than documentary-style storytelling.
-
Super 8 pricing depends on coverage hours and number of film rolls used. Because it requires physical film, development, and scanning, it is priced differently than digital video.
Adding Super 8 Film to a photography package starts at $1500
Stand alone Super 8 Film coverage starts at $4500 -
Because Film is expensive, cool, and one of a kind art. But also because Super 8 requires physical film stock, professional lab development, high-resolution scanning, and analog camera operation. Unlike digital, each roll of film has a fixed recording time, making it both intentional and finite.
-
For couples who value texture, imperfection, and timeless visual storytelling, yes.
Super 8 doesn’t look like a trend. It looks like memory.
REAL FILM. NO PRETENDING.
If you’re drawn to Super 8, you already know why. It’s not about cinematic trailers or polished edits. It’s about texture, movement, and memory. If that feels right to you, reach out. I’ll send over film details and availability.
